I’m Taylor, your go-to yacht captain. I’m originally from sunny Florida and have been around boats most of my life, so you’re in good hands.

I’m friendly, outgoing, and love helping groups have an amazing time on the water. That said, I also know when to give you space so you can relax and enjoy your charter your way.

FAQ

When do I pay the captain?

Payment is due by the end of the charter. You’re also welcome to settle the captain’s fee before we leave the dock. Gratuity can be added after we return.

Why am I being asked to pay a deposit?

A deposit helps confirm your date, time, and boat. It also prevents scheduling confusion, such as multiple captains being booked for the same charter.

What is the typical gratuity?

Gratuity is optional, but always appreciated. A typical tip is 10–20% of the charter fee, not including the captain’s fee.

Tips help cover prep time, shutdown time, extra crew support, and dock assistance.

Where do I go for my charter?

I typically charter with Knot My Boat Charters at 31st Street Harbor, J Dock.

I highly recommend using a rideshare service. When you arrive, walk along the harbor until you see the doors labeled JKL. Go through those doors, and J Dock will be on your left, just past Salerno’s.

It is a bit of a walk, so feel free to ask for help carrying items down to the boat.

What amenities are available?

Please bring ice. Ice may also be available at Salerno’s or the harbor office.

The harbor also has bathrooms, showers, a pool, and nearby food and drink options.

The Playpen is the most popular daytime spot. The river is also an option, but traveling from the lake to the river and back can take up to 45 minutes, which may be tight for 3-hour charters or busy weekends.
