After you book your charter experience, you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your upcoming charter such as time, location, parking information, different locations you can go to, guidelines, safety information, what to bring, etc. 

Popular destinations include: the playpen, Monroe harbor, and the Chicago River (please keep in mind the Chicago River is incredibly busy Friday-Sunday which may result in an hour wait entering and exiting the lock).

Upon booking, you will receive a list of current approved captains for hire, which vessels they are approved for, as well as instructions on how to reach out.

Aternatively, if you would like to supply your own captain, please email contact@knotmyboatcharters.com with the captains credentials.

The boat and crew will be yours to use for the duration of the rental period while you enjoy time on the water.

• Per USCG compliance and bareboat regulations, bareboat charters may accommodate up to 12 passengers. Infants and youth guests are counted as passengers. Please note that the hired Captain/Crew underneath the charterer are not considered passengers.
• Each vessel has a bathroom on board.
• We love animals, however, to ensure their safety, we do not allow them on board unless they are service animals. All service animals need to have a life jacket worn on board.
• Children 13 years and younger are required to wear a life jacket at all times.
• Our yachts have exceptional sound systems. Guests are welcome to play their own music by connecting their cell phones via bluetooth. 
• Guests are welcome to provide their own food and clear beverages. Onboard we provide a complimentary cooler, full refrigerator/freezer, kitchen utensils, bottle opener, disposable cups, napkins, and disposable plates for you to use.
• We are docked at 31st Street Harbor.

When going on a boat, it's important to bring all the necessary items to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Some items you might want to bring include:

• Sunscreen and other protective clothing, such as hats and sunglasses, to protect against the sun's rays
• Snacks and water to keep everyone hydrated and energized
• Towel if planning on swimming or getting in the water
• Other beverages and ice for the cooler to keep your drinks cold
• If bringing young children and/or service animal, we ask that you please provide a life jacket

It's also a good idea to check with the captain to see if there are any other specific items that you should bring on your trip.

We highly advise AGAINST bringing the following:

• No red wine or other potential staining beverages
• No other dyed items such as wigs, silly string, feathered boas, glitter, confetti, etc.
• No glass containers, which can break and create hazards on the boat

Prohitbited by the Chicago Harbor:

• No drugs, weapons or other dangerous items, such as knives or firearms
• No items that utilize open flames, gas, propane, etc.

We accept all cancellations  made 14 days or more prior to Your charter date without any fees. Cancellations made within 13 days of Your charter date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 3 days will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

All requests for cancellations and changes must be made in writing via email to contact@knotmyboatcharters.com by the Charterer. Please include the following information:

• Charterer’s full name
• Organization name (if applicable)
• Scheduled date and time of charter
• Identify request for cancellation
• Reason for cancellation
